THE MINDFUL CLASSROOM
Mindfulness training provides children with emotional and cognitive tools to help them manage emotions and behaviours, reduce stress, sharpen concentration, and increase empathy and optimism.
It uses proven strategies that improve the ability to focus and stay on task. When we are mindful, we are able to engage fully in what we are doing, let go of unhelpful thoughts, and act effectively. Children learn that they can respond, rather than simply react to events.
