Bobbi Allan & Shakti Burke launched Mindfulness in Education in 2012 and have since taught Mindfulness skills to hundreds of teachers and students in schools and classrooms across the North Coast of NSW and interstate.

BOBBI ALLANBobbi has over 40 years’ experience in Mindfulness practices, including training as a teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) classes. She led Mindfulness meditation retreats for 15 years, and has delivered MBSR classes. Her professional background is in adult education and training in government, community and private organisations, where her expertise was in management and supervision skills, workplace communication, conflict resolution, mediation and stress reduction. Since launching Mindfulness in Education 2012, she has been transferring her skills to teaching Mindfulness to teachers and to students in pre-schools and Primary Schools. It is a delightful and inspiring journey.

SHAKTI BURKEShakti Burke is a yoga and mindfulness instructor with over thirty year’s experience. She has delivered mindfulness skills to teachers and primary school children through Mindfulness in Education since 2012, presenting mindfulness activities in fun and engaging ways.
Shakti blends her background in meditation, yoga and eastern psychology with the contemporary insights of neuroscience, embodied mindfulness and positive neuropsychology. She conducts regular mindfulness sessions and workshops for adults and seniors in community settings. She is a graduate of the two-year online Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, Spirit Rock, California. She has trained with renowned neuropsychologist Dr Rick Hanson and is certified in iRest (Richard Miller), Tuning in to Kids (Universities of Melbourne and Monash) and Rainbow Kids Yoga. Shakti writes a mindfulness blog at joyfulmind.net.au and has recently published a picture book Rest is Best, available through Amazon and on her website. |
